Visual sensation stirs my attention to perception and thought. My curiosity is engaged by the ways that feelings, thoughts and physical sensations can influence one another. Such dovetails and overlaps of experience provide the primary focus of my work.

I flatten and recompose observed shapes and colors, and might incorporate a found object into a collage. I photograph or draw the outcome, and use the result in the next layer of process. From this remove, altered associations lead me to examine new responses. I explore patterns and the choices exercised in their readings.

I enjoy ambiguity, in boundaries, scale, and dimension. Layering process, perception and material, I build the image at a contemplative pace. The visual harmonies which result invite a heightened sensitivity to perceptual responses.
