Claire’s work has been exhibited in wide variety of venues since the late 1970s in a series of solo and group exhibitions in and out of New York. She is also included as part of several public and private collections. In recent years Claire has begun experimenting with photography and printmaking and has exhibited this work as well.
Her imagery offers a rich tapestry of surface and textures that result in a woven sense of space with a democratic distribution of forms. Claire’s paintings present a color sensibility that is characteristically understated and complex often suggesting a particular contemplative quality embroidered with oblique Gothic undertones.
