Background
Galerie Cerulean was formed as an exhibition space for artists without current gallery affiliation in New York City. Membership is by invitation only and the artists are free, indeed encouraged to establish relationships with commercial galleries. The latter is one of the reasons the gallery was formed. But the prime directive is to present great art that is not currently gettng the exposure we believe it deserves.
The galerie is sponsered by Abstract Art Online and though our focus is on contemporary abstract painting we try to maintain a generous definition of ‘abstract’. To that end some of our artists include recognizable imagery in their work which from our perspective only broadens the dialog that painting is capable of.
Exhibition Schedules
Currently our shows run for 2 months each beginining in September though this may eventually increase. There are no gallery hours given that this is an online gallery.
